Special Processing: Appending Files (Concatenation)

You can append/concatenate files together easily with this software. This special process places a copy of one or more input files at the end of the output file.

  1. Select the option "Append (Concatenate) files. Input file(s) contents is placed at the end of the Output file" from the Special Process list.

  2. Choose the File Format of the input and output files. Note that both the input and output files must be of the same file type.

  3. From Select Input File(s)/Folders To Process press the "image\ebx_1332418670.gif File" or "image\ebx_-668700270.gif Folder" buttons to browse for the file or folder you wish to process.  If you want to select a folder of files to append, you will need to specify it properly by using the "C:\INPUTPATH\*.EXT" format, where EXT is the file extension of the input files (e.g. C:\Samples\*.txt).

  4. Specify the output file information into Select Output File(s) by browsing for or typing in the name and location the file will be saved at.

  5. Optional: Click the Add (ALT+A) button to add the task to the conversion task list. If you don't plan on doing more than one conversion task, don't bother with this step.

  6. Click the Convert (F5) button to start the process.

Appending many files to one file

You can append multiple files to the end of a single file by using the folder option to select the input folder, then adding the file format to the end of the path (e.g. *.doc , *.htm, *.txt).

For example, say you specify input files of:

C:\BusinessLetters\*.doc

and an output file of:

C:\BusinessLetters\ManyLetters.doc

This software will append all *.doc files found in the BusinessLetters folder to the ManyLetters.doc document. Note: This software is smart enough not to add the output file to itself.
